Hyunsik Lim, a member of BTOB, releases his second solo mini album, [The Young Man and the Deep Sea], marking his return after more than five years since his first mini album, [RENDEZ-VOUS]. This album draws on the theme of the 'sea,' reflecting Lim's deepened musical world and perspective on the sea, contrasting with his previous album which was inspired by space, connection, human relationships, and love. This work, initiated by Lim's long-held desire to create an album themed around the sea, showcases his involvement in every aspect, from songwriting to album concept, design, and music video planning. The commentary reveals Lim's reflection on life and self as akin to the sea, suggesting that his portrayal of the sea encompasses unique colors, sounds, atmospheres, and temperatures. The album features an alternative sound that traverses various genres, inspired by Lim's fondness for "The Old Man and the Sea," and aims to represent the grown young man's perspective of the sea (or himself) in contrast to that of his younger days.
