On October 15, ITZY will release their new mini-album 'GOLD' along with the title tracks 'GOLD' and 'Imaginary Friend.'

ITZY made a meteoric debut in the K-pop scene on February 12, 2019, with their digital single 'IT'z Different' and the title track 'Dalla Dalla.' Known for their solid skills, powerful performances, and unique charms, they have captured fans' hearts and solidified their presence as one of the leading girl groups of the 4th generation of K-pop. Most recently, ITZY has been on a global tour titled 'ITZY 2ND WORLD TOUR <BORN TO BE>' to support their January mini-album 'BORN TO BE,' performing 32 shows in 28 cities worldwide, delivering electrifying performances to both domestic and international audiences.

Their upcoming album 'GOLD' is based on the theme 'Our World is still different,' reflecting ITZY's brilliant and shining journey. The group has built its distinct identity with a bold and forward-thinking energy, and through this album, they reinforce the message, 'We are still different, and we will continue to be.' The trailer video for the album showcases the five members breaking free from conventional molds, maximizing their unique qualities, while the teaser images highlight ITZY’s individuality with bold styling and distinctive energy, further emphasizing their musical identity.

For the first time since their debut, ITZY will be releasing a double title track with this album. The self-titled track 'GOLD' expresses the overwhelming emotions and unfamiliar feelings that come with meeting someone who completely changes your world, likening the experience to the dazzling shine of gold. It features a crossover of intense rock sounds from electric guitars with groovy drums and 808 bass hip-hop elements. The song highlights powerful vocal shouts and charismatic rap, and its music video brings an enchanting and witty mix of surreal elements into the real world, further enhancing the song’s unique charm.

The other title track, 'Imaginary Friend,' is a pop dance track combining vintage pop guitar, acoustic band sounds, and sweet vocal harmonies. The lyrics explore the idea of someone who appears in a fantasy world to protect and strengthen the listener, leaving it unclear whether this figure is an angel, a demon, or even the listener themselves, enhancing the fun and imagination for the audience.

In addition to these two title tracks, the new album will include a total of 11 songs. Among them are 'Bad Girls R Us,' 'Supernatural,' the fan song 'FIVE' commemorating their 5th anniversary, and 'VAY (Feat. Changbin of Stray Kids),' which features Changbin from Stray Kids. Also included are final versions of tracks from their previous works like 'BORN TO BE,' 'UNTOUCHABLE,' 'Mr. Vampire,' 'Dynamite,' and 'Escalator,' performed by all five members. The album's production team features top talents like Ryan Jhun, Dem Jointz (who has worked with numerous global pop stars), and popular lyricists Jo Yoon-kyung and Bang Hye-hyun, enhancing the album's quality. Particularly notable is the collaboration with Stray Kids' Changbin on track 6, where he participated in both the songwriting and featured vocals, adding a special musical chemistry between ITZY and Changbin.

With 'GOLD,' ITZY is expected to continue their dazzling success and shine brightly on the global stage.
