Pierced by the brain-stem-jolting alarm, I attempt to lift my body, heavy as a thousand pounds. B's day begins as indistinguishably as yesterday, its start as uneven as the furrows of a frowned brow. The nauseating necessity of physical closeness in a subway with strangers, the nagging of a boss, indeed every fleeting moment of life promises nothing but pain. Once, being in a band was the dream. "To travel the country on a Vespa, busking wherever we land." Days when nothing seemed impossible with just three chords and a Mohican hairstyle. Yet, reality bites as harshly as today's hangover. "Count to three, and I'll wake from this dream. One... two..." Damn it. The corner of my room, fit for a roach's 90-degree bow, remains unchanged. I dream of life on the eighth planet, living as a rockstar. A faint smile breaks through, yet my heart remains heavy.

Suddenly, last night's journey to the streets of Hongdae flashes before me. Once a daily spectacle, now it seems distant, blurred as if seen through dusty glasses. "Too drunk, perhaps..." The thought is interrupted by a bleached-haired girl with piercing blue lenses, her annoyance palpable as she taps my shoulder and scoffs, "Damn hipsters."

B has simply vanished into a memory known to no one. A hiding spot.

Good writing flows easily. I wish my music did the same. A song where thoughts dance within clear sentences, still, I linger as a dreamer, embarrassed by the straightforwardness of the songs I compose, resulting in an album heavy with thought. Yet, I hope these songs grow into another's story, woven together. To you, hidden away by brokenness or perhaps overwhelmed, I dedicate this. Let's live, together.
