- BTS's RM releases solo album [Indigo]"
- First solo album in about 4 years since the mixtape [mono.]... A record of youth containing RM's honest thoughts and concerns
- RM's genuine story of wanting to live like a 'wildflower'... Collaboration with various artists

BTS's RM released his first official solo album, [Indigo], on December 2. This marks his first solo project in about four years since his mixtape [mono.] was released in October 2018. Throughout his career with BTS and in his solo work, RM has consistently shared his genuine stories without adornment. In [Indigo], he has encapsulated his honest emotions, concerns, and various thoughts. As his first official solo album, RM chose 'indigo,' the fundamental color of denim, to express the changes in his inclinations and tastes, as well as his various thoughts, contrasting the black-and-white mood pervading [mono.], from the jacket to various parts of the album. This choice underlines the reason behind the album's title [Indigo], presenting it as a diary-like collection of RM's true self.

[Indigo] is filled with tracks that reflect the intense and brilliant traces of RM's life and thoughts. The album features a total of 10 songs, including the title track 'Wild Flower Play (with Jo Yu-jin),' 'Yun (with Erykah Badu),' 'Still Life (with Anderson .Paak),' 'All Day (with Tablo),' 'Forgetfulness (with Kim Sawol),' 'Closer (with Paul Blanco, Mahalia),' 'Change pt.2,' 'Lonely,' 'Hectic (with Colde),' and 'No.2 (with Park Ji-yoon).' RM led the entire album process, from writing and composing all the songs to planning the album's concept, design, composition, and music videos.

■ Collaboration Beyond Boundaries... The Connection Between Music and Art

[Indigo] represents a fusion of music, art, and various genres and musicians, with RM facilitating collaborations that transcend artistic boundaries. He completed the music with a variety of musicians and encapsulated the album's meaning through the artwork of a painter he admires. By connecting not only music but also art, [Indigo] was born as the most RM-like album at this moment.

The cover of [Indigo] features artwork by the late Yoon Hyung-geun. RM included this artwork on the album cover, inspired by both music and life in general, characterized by its overall deep blue color.

The 10 tracks included in [Indigo] feature a variety of genres and stories, with participation from multiple musicians. Producers such as Pdogg, HONNE, eAeon, John Eun, and DOCSKIM contributed to the album, while musicians of distinct personalities joined as featuring artists, enhancing the charm of the songs. Vocalists including Cherry Filter's Jo Yu-jin, Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak, Epik High's Tablo, singer-songwriter Kim Sawol, British singer-songwriter Mahalia, R&B hip-hop musician Paul Blanco, singer-songwriter Colde, and singer-songwriter Park Ji-yoon collaborated with RM, aligning their unique styles with his.
