“Songs Become Illustrations” Release of the GRAPHIC LYRICS Series
The lyrics of BTS meet illustrations to offer a new kind of emotion.

The moments we find enlightenment or solace in music often come not just from the melody but frequently from the lyrics as well. Some lyrics carry a significant weight all on their own.

To convey the emotional impact of music, especially through lyrics, the GRAPHIC LYRICS series unfolds the lyrics into illustrations and stories.

Starting with this, five songs from BTS have been encapsulated into five picture books. Songs include 「A Supplementary Story: You Never Walk Alone」 from the [YOU NEVER WALK ALONE] (2017) album, 「Save ME」 and 「House Of Cards」 from the special album [The Most Beautiful Moment in Life: Young Forever] (2016), and 「RUN」 and 「Butterfly」 from the mini album [The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2] (2015), each published as a book with the same name.

A moment to personally touch and savor the lyrics, illustrations, and the stories they hold at your own pace, page by page. This offers a new visual and tactile experience and emotion regarding music as we know it.

“If we are together, we can smile”

Comfort and hope passed among seven boys

The theme of this series, “If we are together, we can smile,” narrates the sharing and caring amongst seven boys with similar experiences.

This is a reinterpretation and expansion of the BTS universe (BU), inspired by BU, consistently followed in some BTS music videos, the novel "HYYH THE NOTES 1," and the webtoon "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt.0 「SAVE ME」".

The stories from Vol.1 to Vol.5 exist independently yet interconnect, culminating in Vol.5 "Butterfly," where a boy navigates between dreams and reality, past and future. Like the book's layout, which intertwines and flips through different pages, they wander through disjointed times but eventually, the boy seems to head somewhere decisively. Thus, an end is also a beginning.

Like facing the repeat sign in a musical score, a fresh emotion surges upon reflection. The GRAPHIC LYRICS series encapsulates the sensibility of paper books with five songs' lyrics, five kinds of illustrations, and five production methods. Through this, we propose another way to enjoy music today.
