King Gnu’s ‘THE GREATEST UNKNOWN’ is the band's fourth studio album, released after four years. It features 21 tracks that showcase a wide range of sounds, including the opening track 'SPECIALZ' for the popular Japanese anime series 'Jujutsu Kaisen: Shibuya Incident,' along with the theme songs 'Ichizu' and 'Sakayume' for the movie 'Jujutsu Kaisen 0.'

'Ichizu' and 'Sakayume,' known for King Gnu's signature unique sound, topped Japan's Oricon charts immediately upon release. The mega-hit track 'SPECIALZ' has also gained significant international recognition, with its music video surpassing 120 million views on YouTube.

After forming their current four-member lineup in 2015, King Gnu made their major debut in January 2019. With their distinctive musicality and consistent releases, they rose in popularity and further cemented their status as a leading Japanese band by consecutively producing theme songs for the global hit anime series 'Jujutsu Kaisen' in 2022 and 2023.
